How To Manage Your Lashes During COVID-19 Lockdowns

We all miss our beauty specialists - lash tech, nail artist, hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists, massage therapists.  During these crazy times some of us try to get creative by getting our boyfriend to do a DIY hair colour or sister buying a shellac machine from Ebay and giving each other mannis in your garage.

As good as it is to see that we are all doing what we can to make ends meet, we have to keep in mind that most of these treatments are performed by qualified professionals who have spent thousands of dollars on training and a lot of time on a skill that YouTube can not teach you overnight.

Firstly - NEVER apply your own eyelash extensions.  Do not attempt to do your own infill.  This can cause you serious damage like eye infections, chemical burns or even loss of eyesight.  Remember that your eyes are very delicate.  The adhesive used is strong and releases fumes that can not enter the eye. Lash tools and tweezers are also very sharp and are used delicately by your lash tech during application.

An eyelash technician can not do their own lashes and would never attempt to do so - so keep away from the tweezers!

Now its been weeks since your last appointment and the last new lashes are hanging on for dear life and you just want them off!  Try and use all your willpower not to pull or pluck them out.  Forcefully pulling your lashes out will cause permanent damage to your hair follicle and may take months for that natural lash to grow back.

What you can do is use oil based cleansers, this is what we tell you to avoid for longer lasting lashes right? So do the opposite.  Oil breaks down the adhesive however it is not the magic solution and is a slow process so do not try and pull them out after one wash as it is not a lash remover however, it will just assist in speeding up the fall out process.

Something that you can do during lockdown is give your lashes some TLC.  Invest in a lash serum to promote and nourish your hair growth so that when we are back in business you can have the long lush lashes you have been waiting patiently for.

Lockdowns aren't forever and as much as we love our lashes it is best to wait it out as painful as it may be :(

We hope to see you soon!
